PoopPotty — Because Everyone Deserves a Dignified Place to Poop

Our Mission

We believe that no child should have to squat over a pit of waste at school or at home while enduring the shame of an unsafe, unsanitary toilet.

No mother should worry that her daughter’s safety is at risk simply by needing to relieve herself. No GrandPa should suffer humiliation because there’s no safe place to go.

Matt 25:35–36 (NIV)

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat... I was a stranger and you invited me in... I needed clothes and you clothed me"

At PoopPotty, we honor one of the most basic human needs—with dignity, hygiene, and love, in Jesus’s name. We seek to provide clean, private, and safe sanitation to families living in crisis—because every person deserves to be treated with honor, even in their most vulnerable moments.

Our Vision

You wake up. Your stomach churns. You rush to the bathroom—but there is none. There’s no toilet anywhere. Not for you. Not for your daughter or son. Not for your grandmother or grandfather. And if there is one, it’s filled with filth, has no water, no privacy. Imagine standing in a line, praying no one watches you while you poop. Imagine the stench, the sickness, the shame... And when you finally finish, there's no water, no toilet paper, and you stink for the rest of the day. Imagine... Now imagine living like that every single day.

This is reality for hundreds in Haiti, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and war-torn regions. Earthquakes, hurricanes, and violence have destroyed sanitation systems. Families are left with nothing but disease, shame, and desperation.

But not if we do something. Together. Today: Now, imagine a world where no child, no mother, no father has to live with shame, sickness, and exposure of defecating in the open.

PoopPotty desires to return dignity to entire communities.

Our Story

When I was in elementary school, our toilet was an open pit. No privacy. No dignity. No safety. I often skipped breakfast to avoid needing to go. Sometimes, I fought off boys who peeked while my sister used the bathroom. Rain made the pit overflow. Of course, I dreaded going to school because of these open toilets. Years later while serving in Haiti, I saw hundreds of children suffering the same way. God put a fire in my heart—and PoopPotty was born.

God-First, People-Driven

When Jesus saw 5,000 hungry people, He didn’t just pray. He fed them. "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat..." (Mark 8:2, NIV)

Jesus met their physical need before teaching a spiritual lesson. So must we.

We believe toilets and clean water are sacred ground — a mission field of love, dignity, and healing.
